Beards and blackbirds
Apr. 30th, 2004 08:20 pmWe've a pair of blackbirds nesting in the ivy at the bottom of the garden. They've been hunting for nesting material the last couple of days and it's interesting to see how particular they are. Mrs Blackbird will spend ages looking for just the right bit of dried grass.
I've just put out the trimmings from Richard's beard to see if they get taken as nest lining.
I'm definitely a beard person. One of the minor joys of folk festivals and SF cons is the number of men with decent beards. Why this correlation exists, I do not know, but I'm shallow enough to enjoy it.
In fact, I never really understand why most men shave. Can anyone enlighten me?
It works in SF too. Riker was much better with a beard, so was Sisko, so is Maybourne.
