Poi at Orbital
Feb. 10th, 2008 04:11 pmAs the lurgi receds further, I'm getting more active again.
I was listening to the song 'Viva las Vegas' the other day and realised it would be perfect for a poi routine. It's got just the right rhythm and bounce to it.
So, I'm starting to work up a poi routine for the Orbital cabaret. It's starting to come together already - I've found some good linking moves that help change forward spins into backward ones. (Some figures work better backwards than forwards) The trick is to get every figure flowing into the next one without any breaks.
I've loaded the song onto my MP3 player and will probably be outside (not enough space indoors) getting some practice between now and Easter.
Who else is doing something for the cabaret? I'm crossing my fingers for some good filkers, dancers, comics, etc. The wealth of fannish talent never ceases to amaze me.
