My favourite kind of day!

Pupil C was scared of algebra two weeks ago.  Now, he's smiling and telling the kid next to him how to get it right.

Sometimes, you find exactly the right way of explaining things that really clicks with someone.

Today, we just had fun with an atlas and geometry and algebra and ratios (nice to pull different bits of the syllabus together) and calculated the circumference of the earth using Eratosthenes method (and his value for the angle of the sun at Alexandria on the summer solstice).

And he aced his chemistry test as well!  (We'd been playing pelmanism using chemical symbols and the names of elements/compounds)

There are days when being a tutor sucks, and there are days when you feel like magic!

I'm very glad to hear it was a good tutoring day today!
