Stuff
Sorry for posting so little of recent. Mostly due to what is probably Irritable Bowel Syndrome, it isn't as bad as it was, but it still tends to affect my sleep, and makes it a bit harder to focus on anything.
also, I'm busy making waistcoats for the sword dance team. Some of our kit did not come out well in photos, especially from the back (the backs of most waistcoats tend to be dark colours). So, I'm using a batch of bright yellow fabric (from the Dorset Scrap Store - which sells unwanted fabric, etc) and a another team member is printing the team logo on to the backs.
Fabric for the fronts is different for each team member, and is coming from left over fabric bought for other tasks, or stuff that team member 3 picked up as end of roll discounts.
It's doing good things for my sewing ability. I can now do a reasonable job of adding interfaces to a garment, sew bias binding onto armholes, and bag out the front of a waistcoat.
Three down, quite a few more to go. I'm focusing on the members who dance out most often, and the children. In a few cases, I may be able to add a new back to an existing waistcoat, but I'm trying to make the all to the same basic design, just to give ta unified feel in spite of the different fabrics.

Would love to see photos of the new waistcoats when done.

I'm trying adding and subtracting different foods, but no real data so far. Cheese seems not to be a culprit - sweet potatoes may be a problem.
I think a fair bit of the pain comes from trapped wind, so I'm just trying a packet of 'Windease', and some probiotics as well, and Kaffir (I like the taste, so may get more even if it doesn't work!)
Will hopefully get photos on Sunday of waistcoats in use.

Sewing ability is something I really don“t have. Really!

I never thought I could sew, but the Great British Sewing Bee inspired me. I started really simple with things like a sleeveless T-shirt - and got it wrong! (But I was using scrap fabric, so it didn't really matter)
I made several simple things that didn't work out very well, and then my favourite loose fitting, cotton summer jacket with nice big pockets died of old age...
I found a second hand pattern that was very similar, made it first from an old sheet so I could make all the mistakes on that. That was very educational!
Then I made it again in the fabric I wanted, a cheap second-hand duvet cover.
It came out so well that I wear it loads! (I'm wearing it as I type) I loved it so much that I made a second one from and old curtain, and wore it to Henry's wedding!

The waistcoats sound cool and kudos for thinking about how to make your group's photos better.
I've been teaching myself to darn gloves and have discovered needle threaders - one of the world's most awesome inventions. Why did I not know about these before now?

I've started hemming my pants, and just realized I could get a needle threader and learn new ways to knot the tail, which should help.
